CRISTINA OPREAN s-a născut la Craiova, unde a studiat pian și canto la Liceul de Artă și a absolvit Institutul de Artă Teatrală și Cinematografică „I.L.Caragiale” București, la clasa profesorilor Petrică Vasilescu și Mihai Mălaimare. Și-a început cariera la Teatrul de Păpuși din Craiova, unde a lucrat timp de un an, ca actor mânuitor, câștigând premiul I la Concursul Național al Teatrelor de păpuși, iar din 1986 a abandonat păpușeria și a venit la teatrul din Constanța, unde și-a făcut un nume, iubit de spectatori și apreciat la superlativ de regizori. Pe lângă multele roluri, extrem de variate, jucate cu talent și profesionalism impecabil, Cristina Oprean Ciorei a realizat un tip special de spectacole alături de soțul său, dirijorul constănțean Radu Ciorei: Ca narator în concerte simfonice, a susținut 12 premiere mondiale, în România, dar și în Statele Unite, Argentina, Portugalia sau Coreea de Sud, pe texte de Marin Sorescu, Lucian Blaga, Fernando Pessoa și Luís de Camões. Este model de creativitate, de profesionalism, de altruism pentru colegii săi, alături de care poate fi aplaudată în „Gaițele”, „Visul unei nopți de vară”, „Titanic Vals”, „Eutopia”, „Dionysos”, „Nunta lui Figaro”.
