SEAS 2024: Punk Rock

The play Punk Rock, a production of the Excelsior Theatre in Bucharest, will be performed on August 24, 2024, at 8:00 PM at Casa de cultură a sindicatelor, as part of SEAS 2024.

A group of teenagers on the verge of their Baccalaureate exam face the inherent pressure of "officially entering adulthood." Seven types of teenagers reveal seven nuanced portraits, sharply crafted with real human concern by British playwright Simon Stephens. William, Chadwick, Bennett, Nicholas, Cissy, Tanya, and Lilly conceal a tumultuous inner world. Beneath the apparent joviality of high school life, beyond bullying scenes, innocent flirtations, and confusing hormones, they experience frustration, anxiety, and a need to break free from the demands of their families, the hostile society, and the rigid educational system.
