#ACEDESIGURANȚĂ, a performance-installation staged simultaneously on TikTok and in four theaters across the country
On Sunday, January 23, 2022, the event "#acedesiguranță" will be launched, an unprecedented performance-installation directed by Bobi Pricop, which will be simultaneously staged in four theaters across the country: the "Marin Sorescu" National Theater in Craiova, the "Andrei Mureșanu" Theater in Sfântu Gheorghe, the Constanța State Theater, and the "Teatrul de Nord" in Satu Mare. The performance is primarily aimed at teenagers.
A truly innovative concept, the performance is designed to work on two levels: in a theater hall, as a performative installation, and online, on the social media platform TikTok.
"#acedesiguranță" is a theatrical production based on a series of narratives, structured with multiple branches, created through video means. The story centers around a group of seven high school students, aged between 16 and 18, who launch #acedesiguranță, a movement that aims to give a voice to teenagers and their experiences on TikTok.
United on the TikTok platform, the seven teenagers address topics relevant to today's youth in Romania: anxiety, identity, self-awareness, education, relationships, vulnerability, and isolation.
The performance-installation requires the audience to be divided into smaller groups, each going into a space where an actor will guide them on an intense journey through the story unfolding in the TikTok universe.
At the Constanța State Theater, the "guiding" of the spectators will be carried out by actors Ecaterina Lupu, Florin Aioane, Andrei Bibire, Cătălin Bucur, Cătălina Mihai, Ștefan Mihai, Theodor Șoptelea, and Cristiana Luca.
"Under this hashtag, we will bring together both the clips already produced with them in the past few months, as well as those of other TikTok users who we hope will identify with the movement launched by the teenagers in our project. Beyond its social relevance, this approach also allows the exploration of new theatrical methods, blending storytelling with TikTok's performative dimension.
The stakes are all the more important given that TikTok is gradually changing (part of) the world we live in, a reality that became even more apparent after the outbreak of the pandemic. By adapting to new technologies, theater can reflect and filter these transformations," says director Bobi Pricop.
The dramaturgy of the performance "#acedesiguranță" is signed by Ionuț Sociu, the set design is by Oana Micu, the music and choreography are by Eduard Gabia, and the image and editing are by Iustin Șurpănelu.
The Constanța State Theater is going through a difficult situation, as we no longer have a space to stage performances, with the auditorium currently undergoing a renovation project. Due to the uncertainty created by the situation mentioned above, the location and times for the premiere in Constanța on Sunday will be announced on Thursday, January 20, 2022, on the theater's website, Facebook page, and Instagram account.
