THE STATE THEATRE OF CONSTANȚA – GUEST AT PRESTIGIOUS FESTIVALS

THE STATE THEATRE OF CONSTANȚA – GUEST AT PRESTIGIOUS FESTIVALS
03-10-2022

Currently, the State Theatre of Constanța is preparing the premiere that will open the 2022-2023 theatrical season, and during this time, we are also participating in the festivals and theatrical events to which we have been invited. These festival participations represent opportunities to present ourselves as part of the theatrical movement in Romania and to gain an accurate, realistic perspective on our own activity by comparing it with the best shows in the country and relating to current trends in theatre.

Thus, the play "PARALLEL UNIVERSES" by David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Radu Iacoban, had a performance on September 24 at the "Maria Filotti" Theatre in Brăila, as part of the 2022 Brăila International Theatre and Performing Arts Festival.

After returning from Brăila on September 25, the TSC troupe, with a slightly modified cast, departed for Chișinău on September 26.

The play "TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA" by William Shakespeare, directed by Alexandru Mâzgăreanu, was invited to the 7th edition of the Romanian National Theatres Meeting, with a performance on September 27 at the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre in Chișinău. The State Theatre of Constanța was warmly received by the audience and organizers, representing the historic province of Dobrogea at this prestigious annual gathering.

At the end of the performance, amidst applause, the director of the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre in Chișinău, actor Petru Hadârcă, and the director of the State Theatre of Constanța, director Erwin Șimșensohn, emphasized the importance of maintaining cultural ties between artists who are part of the same family, the same nation.

We would like to remind you that during the spring and summer, the State Theatre of Constanța participated in the following festivals:

In the coming months, the State Theatre of Constanța’s troupe has further performances scheduled, both within the country and abroad, representing the municipality and county of Constanța and contributing to their cultural prestige.

We thank the audience for the support they show us through their reactions to our posts on social media! Soon, we will announce an invitation to a very special premiere at our studio theatre on Ion Lahovari Street, No. 2A, which we are preparing these days to host several of the TSC's repertory performances.
