Constanța State Theatre at Major Festivals This Autumn 2025
Constanța State Theatre began the autumn season with two participations in well-established festivals on the Romanian theatre scene and is set to appear at the 35th edition of the National Theatre Festival in Bucharest.
Chișinău

On September 14, 2025, the performance Incendies by Wajdi Mouawad, directed by Alexandru Mâzgăreanu, was presented as part of the 10th edition of the Reunion of Romanian National Theatres, on the stage of the “Mihai Eminescu” National Theatre. The audience in Chișinău received the show with emotion and attention, the atmosphere in the hall and the warm appreciation confirming the strength of the text and the intensity of the actors’ performances.
Brăila

On September 21, 2025, the musical performance An Island by Ada Milea, based on Gellu Naum’s work, was part of the International Festival of Theatre and Performing Arts Brăila, at the “Maria Filotti” Theatre. The humor and musical inventiveness of the production drew enthusiastic reactions from the audience, with long rounds of applause at the end.

In October, Constanța State Theatre will take part in the National Theatre Festival with two productions:
October 22–23, 2025, at Bulandra Theatre, Toma Caragiu Hall: Incendies by Wajdi Mouawad, directed by Alexandru Mâzgăreanu.
October 25–26, 2025, at the “I. L. Caragiale” National Theatre Bucharest, Ion Caramitru Hall: Teatro Lúcido la Malul Infinitului, written and directed by Radu Afrim, featuring texts by Adriana Bittel, Bogdan Răileanu, and Doina Ruști.
In recent years, Constanța State Theatre’s productions have become a regular presence at major festivals, and the encounters with diverse audiences have confirmed the openness and relevance of its repertoire.
