EIGHT WOMEN, based on the Romanian version by Constanța Trifu and Mihai Berechet, directed by Radu Nichifor with set design by Adelina Pater and assistant set designer Ana Pavel, follows the classic structure of detective novels in the style of Agatha Christie.
On Christmas Eve, the head of a wealthy family is found dead in his bed, stabbed to death, and the murderer seems to be none other than one of the eight women in the house. Throughout the investigation, each of the eight will have a story to tell, and the secrets that come to light will deepen the mystery, as all eight are suspects with solid motives.
With an all-female cast, Robert Thomas' text offers exceptional acting roles, eight complex biographies waiting for strong voices to express their fears and play out their destinies. The actresses of the Maria Filotti Theatre - Monica Ivașcu, Ramona Gângă, Elena Andron, Emilia Mocanu, Cătălina Nedelea, Wanessa Radu, Narcisa Novac and Iulia Vasilescu - are the eight voices in this production directed by Radu Nichifor.
The theatre will be transformed from a space of celebration to one of revelation, where latent conflicts will erupt, confessions will be made and (self)discovery will unfold.
