A show for the whole family, where myth blends with playfulness, comic absurdity, and the unmistakable music of Ada Milea. The actors from Constanța, who have already proven their vocal talents in other performances, now have the opportunity to make full use of them, turning almost any object on stage into a musical instrument. You are invited to a deserted island, where you'll meet Robinson, Friday, the Mermaid, Mary, her mother and grandmother, the Pirate, Randolph, the King of the Cannibals, the parrot Coco, and many other parrots.
From Robinson Crusoe, Daniel Defoe’s novel that every child and teenager once read while confronting the strange idea of absolute solitude, to The Island by Gellu Naum, and then to An Island by Ada Milea, this updated shipwreck story on a deserted—yet not entirely deserted—island offers both artists and audiences plenty of opportunities for lighthearted reflection on highly contemporary themes.

Reviews
"An Island" reinterprets, with dark humor and overflowing fantasy, the novel of the same name by Gellu Naum, itself an unconventional rewriting of the Robinson Crusoe myth. Under Ada Milea’s direction, the text - often absurd, frequently surrealist - breathes music with blues, jazz inflections, and touches of rock in effervescent rhythms, composing a universe populated by eccentric characters whose lines come to life and move freely on stage, enriched with satirical songs and choreographic elements ingeniously tailored to each character, from the flutter of eyelashes to the sway of a heel over the shadow of a sole. The stage unfolds multiple dimensions, overlapping yet intimately close, with objects serving as part of a magic show where the mechanics of illusion are laid bare. Above all and everyone, like a fantastic chandelier guarding the island, hovers the skeleton of a giant fish, vibrating in sync with the action, ventilating the breath of all, shifting air from one chest to another. Music becomes the language that envelops the entire performance, often blurring the line between spoken and sung dialogue, with instruments mixed in Ada Milea’s signature playful fashion - some classical, others unconventional, ranging from a guitar chord to a bass line played on a canister.
