Three generations of the Gămănuț family reunite in the village of Vânători for a day of remembrance and celebration. Around the table, stories, jokes, arguments, prayers, and memories are shared, while the past comes to life through legends about the family’s ancestors and its fate. When, unexpectedly, a rusty box addressed to the elderly Nică Gămănuț appears at the gate, the gathering takes an unexpected turn. The objects and letter hidden inside reveal a story no one could have imagined they would ever discover, forcing the entire family to see everything they thought they knew about their own history in a different light.
