Radu Iacoban graduated in 2005 from the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography "I.L. Caragiale" in Bucharest, Faculty of Theatre, specializing in Acting, under the guidance of Professor Gelu Colceag. He continued with a Master's degree in Acting, which he completed in 2007. That same year, he won the Best Actor Award at the Gala HOP. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2009 Gopo Awards for his role as Bughi in the film "Memories from the golden age" (2009), directed by Cristian Mungiu. Ten years later, under the mentorship of the late Alexandru (Ducu) Darie, he completed a Master's in Theatre Directing, also at UNATC. From 2012 to the present, he has directed 26 productions, mostly in theatres in the capital, but also in Arad, Brăila, Iași, and Timișoara, some of which he also wrote the scripts for. He is currently a resident director at the Mic Theatre in Bucharest. "Carpathian Garden" won the Best Production Award at the 2014 UNDERCLOUD Independent Theatre Festival, with Radu Iacoban serving as both director and playwright for this production.
