Vlad Massaci is one of the most well-known directors in Romanian theatre. He was born on January 13, 1968, in Bucharest, and graduated from the "I.L. Caragiale" Academy of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, Faculty of Theatre, Theatre Directing Department, under the guidance of Professor Cătălina Buzoianu. With a rich directorial career, Vlad Massaci has staged productions in numerous theatres across the country and has received important nominations and awards over the years. In 1998, at the UNITER Gala, he was nominated for Best Debut. Also in 1998, for the production of "Three Tall Women" by Edward Albee, he received the Critics' Award at the UNITER Gala. In 2010, for "Festen" by Thomas Vinterberg and Mogens Rukova, he was nominated for the UNITER Awards for Best Director and Best Production.
