Horia Suru is a theater director, best known for staging contemporary texts. He graduated from the Faculty of Theater and Television at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2008 and had scholarships for theater studies in New York (USA), Clermont-Ferrand (France) and Valencia (Spain). He has a master's degree in Theater, Film and Multimedia from the same university. He was an actor at the Youth Theater in Piatra Neamț from graduation until 2012 and made his directorial debut in 2011 with the performance "To the Teacher, With Love" at "Maria Filotti" Theater in Brăila. Has 26 performances in his director's portfolio, at theaters across the country, including six theaters in Bucharest (National Theater "ILCaragiale", Odeon Theater, Act Theater, Teatrul Mic, Excelsior Theater and Point Theater), four municipal theaters in Transylvania (Arad, Baia Mare, Oradea, Sfântu Gheorghe) and two from Moldova (Bacău and Botoșani). His performances have been presented at the most important festivals in the country, such as the National Theater Festival and the International Theater Festival in Sibiu, the festivals in Oradea, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Piatra Neamt, Arad, Timisoara, Brasov, Braila, Galați, Constanța, as well as in international tours in Macedonia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Republic of Moldova, etc.
