Six unemployed from Sheffield hit rock bottom and, in order to recover, they decide to do a striptease show for all the women in the city. They try to solve their various problems in this way: one can no longer pay alimony and see his child; his best friend grows apart from his wife, because he no longer feels man enough; another lies to his wife every day that he is going to work, even though he had been unemployed for 6 months, so that she doesn’t get disappointed, and another is on the verge of suicide. A British comedy full of soul, which was a huge success on screen, being one of the cult films of the 90s.

Reviews
"Full Monty" is a different kind of show, where nudity does not necessarily mean indecency. Besides a striptease show, which is particularly acclaimed by the ladies in the audience, it addresses serious issues such as unemployment, depression, divorce, relationships between children and their divorced parents, the fear of failure, lying, and identity crisis. The action takes place in Sheffield, England, during the government of "the Iron Lady," Margaret Thatcher, in a period marked by crisis, but it could easily be set in Romania. This is because the video projections at the beginning of the show, which talk about the record steel production in Sheffield, the flourishing development, and the living conditions and leisure time offered to the working people, closely resemble communist propaganda. The show brings to the stage 17 actors from the Constanța State Theatre, their colleague, the manager of the "Jean Bart" Theatre in Tulcea, Ionuț Paul Ștefan, and... a child. However, there are even more characters, as some actors play multiple secondary roles within the same show. There are also roles assigned to two actors, who can be seen in different performances. Ionuț Paul Ștefan plays the role of Dave, a depressed husband who no longer works with Margaret, his seven-ton crane, which he used to operate before becoming a driver. Blasé and self-conscious, he feels fat and useless, but this doesn't stop his wife, Jean (Florina Stănculeț), from loving him. The actor from Tulcea forms a good team with his Constanța colleague, Marian Adochiței, who plays Gaz, Dave's former co-worker and current suffering friend, separated from his wife and willing to do anything, even at the edge of the law, to see his son, Nathan, who is in the custody of his ex-wife, Mandy (Alina Manțu), remarried to the settled but boring Barry (Andrei Cantaragiu). The role of Nathan is played by Matei Doreanu, who, despite being a debutant on a professional stage at only 13 years old, showed that he feels at ease alongside his more experienced colleagues. To these two friends, Gaz and Dave, another unfortunate character is added, whom they save from suicide: the young, resigned security guard Lomper (Theodor Șoptelea). Inspired by a striptease show performed by the Chippendales at a neighborhood pub owned by Alan (Dan Cojocaru/Liviu Manolache), the three come up with a plan to survive at any cost, based on the principle "nothing ventured, nothing gained." They manage to recruit their former boss, the grumpy Gerald (Iulian Enache), a "man of status," a dance teacher at the Conservative Club, who lies to his wife, Linda (Liliana Cazan/Luiza Sarivan), due to his inability to admit that he is unemployed. The team expands through a casting that includes other regulars from the Employment Office: Calu' (Florentin Roman), an old man "frozen" but with a fiery blood, and Guy, a confident young man who isn't afraid to hide his identity as a gay, just like Lomper. The dynamics of these six unemployed individuals, who, forced by desperation, voluntarily give up their clothes to compete with the Chippendales, is interesting to watch. And, surprisingly, they even succeed! "Full Monty" is a show that shifts from moments of overwhelming sadness to wry smiles, culminating in an infectious sense of good cheer, as everything ends on an optimistic note.
